THE TDSP’S MISSION

The Pontiac Social Development Table is an intersectoral and multi-network coordination committee that acts as a driving force for development. Our mission is to bring together community stakeholders from all sectors to work together on social development. We encourage and support the implementation of initiatives through coordination, ensure that actions converge, promote citizen participation and the mobilization of local actors, and influence decisions and political orientations, always with a view to social development.

  • Encourage cooperation between intersectoral partners.
  • Encourage citizen participation.
  • Fight against poverty and social exclusion.
  • Distribute partner information and information related to social issues in the territory.
  • Represent members in different instances of community, socioeconomic and political circles (local and regional development authorities, municipal milieu, round tables, etc.)
  • Work on local development projects in partnership with other political, institutional and socioeconomic actors of the territory.
  • Concretely work on a variety of projects, according to the needs and priorities established by the actors concerned.
  • Get involved in research activities.
  • Report on the status of, or pilot ad hoc research projects on identified social issues (e.g. food security, education, families and poverty).
  • Carry out action plans on issues identified by the partners.
  • Support organizations in the development of FQIS projects.
  • Represent the Pontiac in FQIS projects.
